In a major step toward strengthening child protection systems, the Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development has officially adopted the Guidelines on Alternative Care of Children. The landmark event took place yesterday 22nd of October 2025 at the Commissioners Office , Delta State Ministry Of women affairs, community and Social development, Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat following the successful work of the Technical Working Group (TWG), which reviewed and adapted the national framework to suit the unique context of Delta State. The adoption ceremony was presided over by the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. (Evang.) Princess Pat A. The Delta State Technical Working Group (TWG) on domestication of the national guideslibes for the Alternative Care Of Children In Nigeria held a drafting meeting on the 8th of September 2025 at the conference room of the Minstry Of Women affairs Community and Social development to review and adapt the National Guidelines on Alternative Care of Children for implementation in Delta State.
