Report on the 2025 International Day of the Boy Child Initiative by Mega Impact Foundation
Executive Summary
The 5th edition of Mega Impact Foundation’s NextGen Connect Initiative in commemoration of the 2025 International Day of the Boy Child celebration was successfully held on the 14th and 15th May 2025 in Asaba, Delta State. The event themed “Raising Resilient Boys in the Digital Age” featured the grand finale of an interschool oratory competition, a high-level conference, and a panel session with thought leaders, and an award ceremony recognizing excellence among boys, schools, and community contributors. Your generous sponsorship made this impactful event possible, reaching over 500 participants directly and thousands more via schools, media and social platforms.
Objectives of the Program
• To celebrate and uplift the boy child through educational and motivational activities.
• To provide a platform for boys to express their thoughts on critical societal issues as it affects them whilst also providing sustainable solutions. .
• To engage key stakeholders in addressing the needs and rights of boys in today's society.
• To honor outstanding contributions to boy child development and education.

3. Program Components
Day 1 and 2
Day 1. Preliminary round
• Oratory Topic: The Role of Financial Technology and Inclusion in Shaping a Brighter Future for Young People in Nigeria.
• Six Schools were selected from the 14 participating schools to participate at the Finals
Day 2. Interschool Oratory Competition (Finals)
• Oratory Topic: The Role of Financial Technology and Inclusion in Shaping a Brighter Future for Young People in Nigeria.
• Participation: 6 finalists
• Judging Panel: Composed of educators, public speakers, and child development experts.
• Outcome:
• Master Otoyo Praise, from Crystalloid International School, emerged the winner
• Audu Innocent, from St Patrick’s College emerged 2nd position
• Asher David, from Glorious Kids academy emerged 3rd position
Conference Session

Day 3: Tech-in-School Conversation
Theme: Tech-in-School Conversation: Empowering the Boy Child Through Digital Literacy
Date: May 16, 2025
Venue: Schoolville Limited, Delta State Innovation Hub, Asaba, Delta State.
Attendees: 30+ including students (ages 15–17), STEM Teachers, tech professionals, and media representatives.
Events
The day began with a welcome address by the Program Manager who emphasized the critical need to equip boys with digital skills and emotional intelligence to navigate the 21st century.
The Workshop
A highly interactive workshop introduced boys to the concepts of:
• Responsible technology use
• Online safety and digital ethics 9Cyber Security)
• The role of technology in shaping their careers and identity
Facilitators from Moniepoint Group, Schoolville Limited and Big T Infotech Solutions Limited delivered hands-on sessions
Each session was followed by an open Q&A, where boys and girls actively participated with questions and comments.
4. Facility Tour
Students were given a guided tour of the hosting ICT facility (Schoolville), including:
• A visit to the digital literacy hubs
• A glimpse into real-life tech projects being developed
This tour deeply inspired the boys, exposing them to tangible career paths in technology.

• 75% of participants reported an increased interest in ICT fields
• Teachers requested further collaboration on digital literacy modules
• Boys expressed a desire to form “Tech Clubs” in their schools, which we have committed to support
